Burning of a dried broccoli plant carrying seeds, Excerpt of Feed The Organism, Happening, 2020, Leipzig
In 2020 all tree cuttings from my garden were burnt in an attempt of producing vegetable carbon. Coal, when damped down with water, cracks open and becomes porous. It is empty, inactive and wants to feed itself immediately by accumulating molecules from its surrounding space: water, bodily excrements, decaying insects, bacteria, fungi. Friends shared with me the act of collectively activating the carbon and form nutrient-rich soil to feed next year‘s crops.
